2012 Training/workshop details!
Sydney School of Playback 2012
Playback Theatre is an original form of improvisational theatre where an audience member’s personal story is immediately ‘played back’ onstage by the ensemble group of actors and musician, offering drama, creativity, humour and insight.
At the Sydney School of Playback Theatre all our workshops are designed to build skills that are useful in your personal and professional life. Some workshops focus on exploring Playback performance and developing the skills that underpin that performance (workshops 1,2,5) while other workshops (3,4) will draw on Playback skills but are focused on specific areas of personal and professional development. All our workshops are designed for learning and for great fun.

3. Working together through the good times and the bad…
What makes your company tick?
What’s the glue that holds a good company together,
and what goes wrong when it doesn’t?
PBT Sydney, like most theatre companies, has weathered many a storm over the
past 30 years. Dealing creatively with our own interpersonal and group conflicts
and dynamics is a core part of our performance work. Company life is all about
relationships, both internal and external & with members of up to 22 years
standing, we would like to share some of the processes and insights we have learned
along the way having gone through some difficult times and stayed together.
The workshop will have an action method base using theatre techniques focused
on context and dynamics; Playback theatre (basic), storytelling, role play, listening skills and because it is always valuable to laugh – some games! The focus will be on the needs of groups involved in a creative process. Those who are seeking to better understand group process where the quality of the internal relationships impacts on the work the group does will find the workshop relevant and valuable.
